Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a firefighter or wanted to volunteer in your community?  The ETFD has positions available for everyone.  From firefighting to support personnel, we need your help! Training and equipment is provided to all members.  If you think you have what it takes, please send us an email at the address below, and someone will be in contact with you as soon as possible.  In the message field, please add any previous experience related to the fire service, any current/past agency affiliations, and any personal information you'd like us to know about you.         

Did you know, besides the satisfaction of helping others in need, joining your local fire department has personal benefits you may be interested in?  The Community College of Allegheny County, in partnership with the Allegheny County Fire Academy, developed the FireVEST program which provides full scholarships for an associate's degree or certificate program at CCAC, as well as training at the Allegheny County Fire Academy.  Of the 200 scholarships offered per year, 150 are for new recruits in exchange for a commitment of five years of service to a volunteer fire department in Allegheny County, while 50 scholarships will be awarded to existing volunteers with the same stipulations.

Also, the Elizabeth Township board of Commissioners, has enacted a tax incentive program for any resident of Elizabeth Township who is a member of an Elizabeth Township fire agency who commits to at least 60 hours of documented service per year!  These members will see incentives in the form of tax credits on earned income and local property taxes.
